On the 30th September 2012 Dr Paul Bromley will be retiring from the Stockwell Surgery.
This has provided an ideal opportunity to complete a comprehensive review of the way in which the John Kelso Practice and Stockwell work. As a result of this review, the NHS North Staffordshire Primary Care Trust and the doctors at both practices believe there will be significant benefits to patients through the creation of one larger GP practice combined from the two surgeries. Therefore the John Kelso Practice and Stockwell Surgery, who already share the Park Medical centre, will join forces on 1st October 2012. This is an exciting new venture for us all as the merger will result in a brand new partnership and practice.
Amalgamating the two practices will ensure that we have a wider range of excellent clinical and admin skills and the merger will result in a stronger primary care team. This will ensure we move forward within the ever changing NHS and the opportunities that will arise through NHS north Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Group.
At the moment we are in the consulting process to secure funding and approval for a new building to house us all. With a new build we hope to be able to provide a wider range of services for our patients closer to home.
Throughout the next year as we work through the changes, we will endeavour to keep you informed as we progress.
If you have any comments or concerns please contact your patient participation groups by email - jkppg@btinternet.com for the John Kelso Practice group or stockwellppg@gmail.com for the Stockwell Surgery group.
