The Patients Participation Group for the John Kelso Practice
We have a well-established Patient Participation Group (PPG) and are often looking to recruit new members to ensure a representative group. The PPG aims to act as the 'voice of patients', reflecting local views and opinions and thereby having a say in changes and decisions taken within the Practice. The practice can also use us as a 'sounding board' for new ideas they may wish to try. The Virtual Patients Group
We realise that many patients are unable to attend the meetings due to pressure from work or family commitments but may want to have a say in what we do. We need and value the input from a wide range of patients especially the ones who are busy or with children or who may be carers for someone. Why not join our "virtual" community? We can keep in touch by email or telephone and you can still play a very important role in our PPG. To join us follow the contact information at the bottom of this page.
National Association for Patient Participation NAPP
We are affiliated to NAPP and follow the the principles and objectives laid down by them. Some of the things we have been involved in:-
- We have carried out patient surveys on behalf of the practice
- We maintain the waiting room notice boards on a basis of a monthly theme.
- We attend PPG cluster meetings to share ideas between the Moorlands PPGs. These meetings are also attended by the PCT and a doctor.
- We attend NAPP conferences and local meetings.
- We have done the research into what information is provided on the recently installed Information Kiosk and attended meetings with the PCT and Kiosk providers.
- We have assisted the practice with the maintenance of this website.
