WELCOME TO THE WEB PAGE FOR THE JOHN KELSO PATIENTS PARTICIPATION GROUP
Our Group consists of a range of people of difference backgrounds and ages who work with the practice to help them provide an accessible and responsive service.
We are the voice of the patients, but for this to work properly we need your input and opinion. We find that although people are interested in what goes on in their Doctors they do not feel able to commit time to attending meetings. With this in mind we are working on setting up a Virtual Patient Participation Group which will enable those of you with the computers to have your say by email. If you are interested then click Here to see a copy of the leaflet where you can read more about us or or click Here to download an application form. This can be placed in the box by the reception or handed to a receptionist.
We are also anxious for young people to join this Group and we feel this is the way for them to have input on various subjects. We hope to contact them through the schools in the future.
There are of course people who will not be reading this because they do not have a computer and we will of course make every effort to ensure they are not disenfranchised by having posters, leaflets and Application Forms in Reception.
The Virtual Patients Group
We realise that many patients are unable to attend the meetings due to pressure from work or family commitments but may want to have a say in what we do. We need and value the input from a wide range of patients especially the ones who are busy or with children or who may be carers for someone. Why not join our "virtual" community? We can keep in touch by email or telephone and you can still play a very important role in our PPG. To join us follow the contact information at the bottom of this page.

National Association for Patient Participation NAPP
We are affiliated to NAPP and follow the the principles and objectives laid down by them. Some of the things we have been involved in:-
- We have designed patient surveys on behalf of the practice and helped with the collation of the data
- We maintain the waiting room notice boards on a basis of a monthly theme.
- We were instrumental in the setting up of the Blue Information Kiosk which can be seen in Reception and which provides information on a variety of health subjects and details of where help can be found.
- We are active members of the Cluster Group which represents the practices in this area and together we have been instrumental in the review of the Podiatry Service in this area.
- We attend NAPP Conferences and local meetings.
- At the request of Patients we have devised and provided a purse/pocket sized yellow card which provides you many useful numbers.
- We assist the practice by maintaining this website.
If you are interested in learning more please do not hesitate to contact the PPG chair person and we will do our best to answer any queries.
